Krakow

June 21, 2017

Kraków, is the second largest and one of the oldest cities in Poland with a population of approximately 760,000. Situated on the Vistula River in the Lesser Poland region, the city dates back to the 7th century. Kraków has traditionally been one of the leading centres of Polish academic, cultural, and artistic life and is one of Poland’s most important economic hubs.

Transport:

There is definitely best option to come from Ukraine to Krakow by express trains with only one change: Lviv-Przemyśl (ticket price is around 180 UAH and you can buy it at any train station in Ukraine or Poland) and Przemyśl-Kraków (price is around 45 PLN, you could buy it online through www.intercity.pl).

It will take you only 5 hours!!!. If you will take express train from Lviv on June 20 at 12.17 pm, you'll arrive to Kraków at 7 pm.

Logging:

We recommend you to come couple of days earlier before the event  to have chance of discovering beautiful sites of culture and history, feel amazing atmosphere of ancient royal capital, and participate in extremely active social life of Krakow. The best location according to the Forum venues is the area around Main Train Station (Kraków Glówny) from the side of Pawia street.

As for the accomodation type we advice to look for appartments (apartamenty) instead of hotels. Good price for 1 night for all the appartment is 150-200 PLN.

Food:

There are plenty nice places to eat and relax in Kraków. There is a statistics that if you will be visiting 2 new restaurants every day, for lunch and dinner, it will take you 3,5 years to check out them all incity))

We recomend couple nice places here FYI to try Polish traditional cuisine (i.e. żurek or pierogi):

We recommend you to book your accomodation as fast as possible because there is a huge international jazz festival is being held on 23-25 June so all hotels are fully booked. We have a reservation for couple of rooms in our partner hotel, and if you have problem to find place to stay in Lviv, please contact Forum coordinator for information if they are still available.

As for the accomodation type we advice to look for appartments (apartamenty) instead of hotels. Good price for 1 night for all the appartment is around 400 UAH or 50 PLN per night. If you are planning to stay in Lviv for weekend June 24-25, please mind that prices are tremendously higher for logging from June 23 because of the festival - around 1300 UAH or 185 PLN per night.
